Theodore Roosevelt here talks about the importance of protecting the natural resources of America. He was known as the "conservationist president" for this.

In order to preserve wildlife and public lands, he created The United States Forest Service (USFS) in 1905 and established 230 millions acres of public land (most of it, as national forests). Roosevelt also created a Federal Bird Reserve and the National Park System grew sensationally during his administration.
