Average Rate of Change is given by the Slope of the Function

We know that :

\bold{Slope(m) = (y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)}

The Given Points are : (3 , -10) and (5 , -26)

Here : x₁ = 3 and x₂ = 5 and y₁ = -10 and y₂ = -26

\bold{Slope(m) = (-26 + 10)/(5 - 3) = (-16)/(2) = -8}
