The given statement is true, while comparing the fractions we observe the denominators. If the denominators are same, we compare the numerators to compare the given fraction.

When comparing two fractions with like denominators, the larger fraction is the one with the greater numerator.

For eg: If we have to compare between the fractions
(2)/(5), (6)/(5)

Since, we can see both the fractions has the same denominators and different numerators. Since, 6 is greater than 2.

therefore, the fraction
(6)/(5) is greater than
(2)/(5).

Hence, the given statement is true.
