Answer:

There are 13 ladies and 6 men

Explanation:

X = men Y = ladies

Y = 7 + X

X + Y = 19

Do substitution. Plug the first equation into the second.

X + (7 + X) = 19

Combine like terms

2x + 7 = 19

Subtract 7 on both sides

2x = 12

Divide both sides by 2

X = 6

To find the amount of ladies, plug the X value into one of the equations I will use the first equation as an example.

7 + 6 = Y

Y = 13

Answer:

The answer is 13 ladies and 6 men

Explanation:

The easiest way to get this is you have 19 people and take away 7 as they are ladies and you have 12 divide that by 2 getting you 6, then add the 7 ladies you took away at the start and add em to the 6 you have now. and thats how you get the answer.

Hope this helps and don't forget to hit that heart :)
