CHKDSK is a tool in DOS and Windows to check and fix errors on storage drives. When run, it checks all the files and folders on a disk drive for errors and fixes any errors on the disk.
CHKDSK can be run using the CHKDSK command from a command-prompt.
I chose to run CHKDSK on my internal hard drive, in Windows, by following these steps:
Go to My Computer.
Right-click the local drive and select Properties.
Click Tools.
Click on the Check Now button.
Select the two check boxes and click Start
