So for the other 9 days class must have brought 90 cans. If on day 10 the total number of canned goods is 205 then on the first day, teacher must be having,

`205-90= 115` cans of food.

So the initial value is 115.

Since the class is bringing 10 cans a day, that is the rate of change. Each day the consumption is of 10 cans. Or we can say 10 cans per day so that is the rate of change.
