The Buddhist sects at of the Kamakura period: C) included Zen and Pure Land Buddhism.

Because of the violence and chaos that people were experiencing in this era, Buddhism had the chance to spread and as it was gaining popularity more sects appeared. Ordinary people were worried about what they were living, and that's why they started searching for spiritual salvation; which was offered by 2 new sects Jodo-Shu (also known as The pure land Buddhism) and Zen (also known as meditation).
