Explanation:

g(x) = 3 (x-2)

g(x) =6

set 6 equal to 3 (x-2)

6 = 3(x-2)

solve for x

distribute

6 = 3x - 3*2

6 = 3x -6

add 6 to each side

6 +6 = 3x -6 +6

12 = 3x

divide by 3on each side

12/3 = 3x/3

4 =x
