Explanation:

The equation of a line passing through the origin is

y = mx ( m is the slope )

to calculate m use the gradient formula

m = ( y₂ - y₁ ) / ( x₂ - x₁ )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (- 7, 7) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (0, 0)

m =
(0-7)/(0+7) =
(-7)/(7) = - 1

⇒ y = -x is the equation of the line
