A rectangular lot is 65 meters wide and 110 meters long.Give the length and width of another rectangular lot that has the same perimeter but a smaller area.

Answer:

Area: 100 * 65 = 6500 sq meter

Find the perimeter

2(100) + 2(65) = 330

:

The greatest area for a given perimeter will be a square;

let s = side of the square

4s = 330

s = 330%2F4

s = 82.5 each side; 82.5^2 = 6806.25 sq meters
