I believe by using

a ^(2) + b ^(2) = c ^(2) \: \: \: \: \: you \: will \: plug \: in \: 1 \: for \: a \: and \: b \: then \: find \: the \: square \: root \\you will plug in 1 for A and B then you will find the square root of the number you get after you square A and B and add them together. then you should have your answer

Answer:

c=√2

Explanation:

Use the Pythagorean theorem:

  • a^(2) +b^(2) =c^(2)

  • 1^(2) +1^(2) =c^(2)
  • c=√2
