Is PCOS hereditary? And what are some of the symptoms? My mom thinks I might have it, but she won't tell me much about it for some reason. I'm getting tested in a few weeks, but I want to know which of the symptoms I have before I get tested. Thanks!

Answer:

PCOS sometimes runs in families. If any relatives, such as your mother, sister or aunt, have PCOS, the risk of you developing it is increased.

You should just wait for your mom to explain the symptoms. Parents have a reason for not telling you things 99% of the time.
