Answer:

There are 192 marbles.

Explanation:

eight parts and 2/8 of them are blue and 1/8 of them are green, then you have 5/8 left and of those 5/8 only one of them are yellow, and we know that there are 24 yellow marbles. So 1/8=24 marbles. Then, you would multiply 24x8=192

There are 192 marbles in all.

Answer:

There are 192 marbles.

Explanation:

Let the number of marbles in the bag be
x.

Then number of blue marbles

=(1)/(4)x.

Number of green marbles

=(1)/(8)x.

The remaining marbles

=x-((1)/(4)x+(1)/(8)x)

=x-((2x+x)/(8))

=x-(3x)/(8)

=(8x-3x)/(8)

=(5x)/(8).

It was given that

(1)/(5) of this remainder is 24

This implies that

(1)/(5)* (5x)/(8)=24

We solve this to obtain,

(x)/(8)=24

x=24* 8

x=192

Therefore the number of marbles is 192
