Answer

Find out the width of the banquet hall .

To prove

Formula

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

As given

The area of a rectangular banquet hall is 7400 square feet.

The length of one side of the hall is 82 feet.

Put in the above formula

7400 = 82 × width

width = (7400)/(82)

width = 90.244 feet (approx)

Therefore the width of the hall is 90.244 feet (approx).

Answer:

Estimate width of the hall is 90 feet.

Explanation:

Given: The area of rectangular banquet hall is 7400 square feet and the length of one side of the hall is 82 feet.

To find the width of the hall.

Area of rectangular is multiply the length by width.

i,e
A = l * w ......[1] ; where A is the area of rectangle, l is the length and w is the width of the rectangle respectively.

Substitute the value of A = 7400 square feet and length(l) = 82 feet in [1] to solve for w;

7400 = 82 * w

Divide both sides by 82 we have;

(7400)/(82) =(82 w)/(82) = 90.24 feet ≈ 90 feet.

therefore, the width of the hall is 90 feet.
