The slope is always rise/run.

In this situation, the rise is (-4) - (-1) as that gives the difference in the y values and this is = (-3).

The run is 1 - (-4) as this gives the difference in the x values and this is = 5.

Thus the slope is (-3) divided by 5.

This implies that:

Slope = negative(3/5)
