f(x) + g(x) = (2x)/(2x + 1) + (1)/(2x + 1)

  • Set up

f(x) + g(x) = (2x + 1)/(2x + 1)

  • Since we have common denominators among the terms, we can simply add the numerators

f(x) + g(x) = 1

  • Simplify

The answer is Choice B, or 1.
