Yara just received a 6% raise in salary. Before the raise, she was making $52,000 per year. How many more will Yara earn next year? In this problem how would you figure it out in Percent Proportion?

proportion

before, she was making 52000

so raise/original=106%/100%=106/100

x=new salary

'how much more'=x-52000

also, since 6% increase, 6% is the how much more

howmuchmore/52000=6%/100%

howmuchmore/52000=6/100

howmuchmore/52000=0.06

multiply both sides by 52000

howmuchmore=3120

she earns $3120 more nex year
