Answer:

The slope is -2.

Explanation:

The slope formula is ⇒
\displaystyle (y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

\displaystyle ((-4)-8)/(5-(-1))=(-12)/(6)=(-12/6)/(6/6)=(-2)/(1)=-2

Therefore, the slope is 2, and the correct answer is 2.

so you just do the slope formula

which y2-y1 over x2-x1 in fraction form

so you would do

(-1 , 8) (5 , -4)

(x1 , y1) (x2 , y2)

-4 - 8 over 5- (-1)

which would give you the fraction 12/6

it can be simplified to 2

so 2 is your slope

hope it help
