You can build graphical using both equation

  1. y=x+7
  2. y=-2x+10

1. When
y=0, so
x=-7 and when
x=0, so
y=7

2. When
y=0, so
x=5 and when
x=0, so
y=10

So in the image graphic 1 is red and graphic 2 is blue and you can see they cross at (1,8)

To check

1=2 so,
x+7=-2x+10 \\ 3x=3 \\ x=1

Replacing:

1. y=1+7=8 and 2. y= -2*1 +10=8

So (1,8)
