Miguel and three of his friends went to the movies. They originally had $40. Each boy sent a total of $7.50 on a ticket. How much money did each boy have left after buying his ticket?

If the 40 dollars was for all 4 of the boys in total they would have 10 dollars left if they had to split the 40 and each boy had 10 dollars to get there ticket then they each would have 2.50 left.
