Three main functions of the muscular system: Movement: muscles are able to contract and relax enabling movement of the body and movement in the body (e.g. heart, vessels, bowel). Posture maintenance: bones are not enough to keep us 'in shape'. Muscles are essential to allow us to maintain posture and body position.

Answer:

The skeletal system provides support, structure and protects vital organs whereas muscle system help in the body.

Explanation:

The muscles are composed of three types of muscle cells; cardiac muscles, skeletal muscles, and smooth muscles. These soft tissues have the ability to contract and relax which helps in movements required for the body.

The skeletal system has different types of bones. Bones are hard tissues made up of inorganic minerals and collagen fibers. Muscles connect with bones. Bones provide structure, support to the body and also protect vital organs.

Thus, the skeletal system provides support, structure and protect vital organs whereas muscle system help in the body.
