First question:

1/8 as a decimal is found by dividing 1 by 8. Use a calculator.

1/8 = 0.125

To change a decimal to a percent, move the decimal point 2 places right.

0.125 = 12.5%

Second question:

0.8 is read as "eight tenths." Write eight tenths as a fraction, then reduce it.

0.8 = 8/10 = 4/5

Now you need it as a percent. To change a decimal to a percent, move the decimal point 2 places right.

0.8 = 80%

Third question:

A percent is a ratio out of 100. 55% means 55 to 100.

55% = 55/100

Now reduce the fraction. Divide the numerator and denominator by 5.

55/100 = 11/20

To change a percent to a decimal, move the decimal point two places left.

55% = 0.55

1/8= 1 divided by 8 = .125 or

move the decimal 2 times to the right for 12.5%

.8= move decimal to the right 2 times for 80%

this is also same as 8/10

55%= 55/100 or

the same as move the decimal from end to the left 2 times for .55
