Factor g(x) = x^4 + 2x^3 + 2x^2 - 2x - 3 given that (x + 1) is a factor.

So far what you have is x^3 + x^2 + x - 3 = 0

This produces one more real

1 || 1 1 1 -3

1 2 3

===========

1 2 3 0

Now what you have is x^2 + 2x + 3 = 0 which gives 2 complex answers.

You final answer is (x + 1) (x - 1) (x^2 + 2x + 3) = 0
