Answer with explanation:

Data was collected about the amount of rainfall in inches according to temperature.

A scatter plot is known by many names.

1. scatter graph,

2.→ scatter chart,

3.→ scatter gram,

4.→ scatter diagram

is a plot drawn on two dimensional plane using ordered pair which shows relationship between two variables .

→As temperature increases amount of Rainfall decreases. So, the two variables are inversely proportional to each other that is with increase in one other decreases and vice versa.

→ Any of the two variables can be represented on X axis and other on Y axis.

→→Mark the points that is amount of rainfall and temperature on coordinate plane. If these points are closely attached it means strong relationship between two variables and if quite apart from each other then it means strong Dissociation between two.

Solution: Scatter plot is a graphical tool to determine the strength of linear relationship between the dependent and independent variables. In the scatter plot, the dependent variable is taken along the y axis and independent variable along the x-axis. In our example, temperature is considered along x axis and rainfall along the y-axis. Each pair of observation of temperature and rainfall is represented by a dot on the scatter plot.
