PLEASE HELP. I just need the equation no need to solve THANK YOU. A water tank holds 18,000 gallons. How long will it take for the water level to reach 6,000 gallons if the water is being used at a rate of 450 gallons per day? Write an equation in the form y=mx+b

Let x be the number of days it takes for the water level to reach 6000 gallons. Let y be the amount of water consumed after x days.

Amount of water used per day = 450 gallons.

Then, y = 450x --- (1)

Let's solve this model and find the value of x.

Amount of water initially in the tank = 18000 gallons.

If the water level reaches 6000 gallons, then the amount of water left in the tank = 18000 - 6000 = 12000 gallons.

Substitute in (1), we get,

12000 = 450x

x =
(12000)/(450)

= 26.666...

≅ 27 days

Hence, it will take 27 days for the water level to reach 6,000 gallons.
