A rectangular page that is x inches wide and has an area of 240 square inches. The page contains a printable area of 160 square inches. It has 2 inch margins at the top and bottom and 1 inch margin on each side. Which equation can be used to represent the printable area in terms of x?

• 160= (x-2)(240-4x) over x
• 160= (x^2-4)(60-2x) over x • 160= (x+2)(240+4x) over x or • 160= (x-4)(60-2x) over 2x ??!!

The area of the rectangular page is 240 square inches.

The rectangular page has a width of x inches and a length of
(240)/(x).

The area of printable page is 160 square inches.

The rectangular page has 2 inch margins at the top and 1 inch margins on each side.

Area of a rectangle is given by length × width.

The printable area is (x - 2) × (
(240)/(x) - 4) = 160 square inches.

This can also be represented as:

160 = (x - 2)(
(240 - 4x)/(x))
