hi im a 44 yr old mom back to school struggling with fractions like this please help explain it step by step i know matj vocab yet get confused 6/8= /4

You can make it bigger or smaller by multiplying or dividing both values with the same number.

looks like it wants you to find an equivalent (or like) fraction, by looking at the 8 and 4 ( denominators) that tells us it's going to half the fraction so half of 6( Numerator ) is 3 so 6/8 = 3/4
