2y = 4x + 2

y = 2x + 1

This shows us a slope of 2. TO find the perpendicular slope, we use the opposite and reciprocal. This means we negative 2 to get -2 and then we flip it to get -1/2. Now that we have this, we can use the slope and the point in point-slope form to get the equation.

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y + 2 = -1/2(x - 2)

y + 2 = -1/2x + 1

y = -1/2x - 1
