Are 3x and 4(x+1) -x -4 equivalent?

First simplify both sides of the equation:

3x is the most simplified it can be,

4(x+1)-x-4

Use distributive property....... 4(x+1)=4*x+4*1=4x+4 then 4x+4-x-4=3x

so therefore 3x=3x

Answer: YES
