Select "Yes" or "No" to indicate whether the ordered pair is on the graph of the function f(x)=−16x+1 .

Ordered Pairs

I'm super late but I hope if anyone else has this QS they will know so the answers are:

(0,-16) Yes
(-1,-1) Yes
(1,256) No
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I did the test (I know this isn't a good explanation so I'll explain it for you)
(0,-16) is Yes cause 0 = x and -16 = y we need to know if we put in 0 for x if it will equal y = -16 so: y = -16^x+1 becomes y = -16^0+1. 0 + 1 is 1 so its -16 to the power of 1 which is -16 and -16 (from (0,
-16) -16 is y) is equal to -16 so this is correct -16 = -16 so that's how you do it just do the same for the others plug in x for -16^x+1.

To determine if the given points are on the graph of the function, substitute the x- coordinate into the equation and if the value is equal to the y-coordinate then it is on the graph

(0, - 16 ) : f(0) = 0 + 1 = 1 ≠ - 16 → No

(- 1, - 1) : f(-1) = 16 + 1 = 17 ≠ - 1 → No

(1, 256 ) : f(1) = - 16 + 1 = - 15 ≠ 256 → No
