You have a summer job running errands for a local buisness. You earn $5 per day plus $2 for each errand you run. How many errands must you run to earn $17 in one day? Write a verbal model for the problem. (Use only words)

You’re working for one day. $5 per day. So you already have $5 now you need to find the difference from 17 (17-5) that means you need $12 to earn $17 in total. You get $2 per every erran you run. 12/2 is 6.

You need to run errands 6 times in one day($5)

5+2 x=17

5+2x-5 = 17-5

2x = 12

2x/2 = 12/2

x=6

To earn 17 dollars, you must get the 5 dollars for showing up plus 2 dollars for each errand ran.

subtract 5 from 15 to get 12. then divide 12by 2 to get 6. You must run 6 errands
