You should note a couple of things.

  • The y intercept is found by letting x = 0 when that occurs -(4) - 3 = -7 So the y intercept is (0,-7) It is labeled for you.
  • There is a maximum at (-4,-3)
  • It is a maximum because of the minus sign in front of -abs(x+4)
  • y = f(x)
