On the contrary, Jacksonian Democracy was known to promote white supremacy and to subjugate the native americans, and even supported the expansion of slavery. It privileged white men ussing the spoil system to give them positions in goverment and gave them areas for cultivation, making the Indian Removal Act.
6. The founding of the Republican Party.
Historians say Andrew Jackson was the founder of todays Democratic party, though its origins are from the Jefferson's Republican party. The Jacksonian Democratic party was known for its anti-elite rhetoric (against old aristocratic families), distrust of banks and paper money, the suffrage expansion to white men, and restructuring federal institutions as the Second Bank of the United States (National Bank).
