Answer:

The two numbers are 29 and 18

Explanation:

Let x and y be the two numbers

x = 2y-7

x+y = 47

We have two equations and 2 unknowns

Substituting the first equation into the second equation

2y-7+y = 47

Combine like terms

3y -7 = 47

3y-7+7 = 47+7

3y = 54

Divide by 3

3y/3 = 54/3

y = 18

Now find x

x = 2y-7

x = 2*18 -7

x = 36-7

x = 29

The two numbers are 29 and 18
