The whole numbers from 10-12 are paired with their factors explain why this pairing doesnt describe a function

Answer:

As given whole numbers from 10 - 12 are paired with their factors.

factor of ,10=1,2,5,10 → (10,1),(10,2),(10,5)(10,10)

factor of 11=1, 11 → (11,1),(11,11)

factor of 12=1,2,3,4,6,12→ (12,1),(12,2),(12,3),(12,4),(12,6),(12,12)

As we know for an ordered pair to be function Every element in the domain must have a unique image, i.e it can't have more than one image.

→ As element 10, have four images,which are 1,2,5,10 so it can,t be a function.

Similarly element 11 have two images 1,11 so it can't be a function.

Element 12 have six images 1,2,3,4,6,12, so it also can't be written as function.
