If the triangles are congruent, then
x = 3.

4x+1=13
2x+y=8x-2y

4x+1=13 (subtract 1 from both sides of the equation)
4x=12 (now divide by 4 both sides of the equation)
x=12/4=3

x=3

answer: x=3
