Answer:

The big bag contains 16 4/5 kg of rice.

Explanation:

divide 42 by ten and you get 4 2/10 multiply that by 4 because there are 6 rice bags which contained 1/10 of the rice so the other four is apart of the big bag

4 1/5x4= 84/5 =16 4/5 kg

we are given

Sam packed 42 kg of rice

So, total amount of rice =42kg

And there are six small bags

each contains 1/10 of the rice

So, rice on each bags is

=(1)/(10)* 42

=4.2kg

so, total rice in 6 bags is

=6* 4.2kg

=25.2kg

so, the rice in big bag = ( total amount of rice )-( total rice in six small bags)

we can plug values

and we get

so, the rice in big bag is

=42-25.2

=16.8kg..............Answer
