1. L.C.M of the denominators is 4.

So, multiply the numerator and the denominator of the first fraction by 2.

(1)/(2) + (3)/(4) =(2)/(4) +(3)/(4)

=(5)/(4)

Hence,
(1)/(2) +(3)/(4) =(5)/(4).

2. L.C.M of the denominators is 24.

So, multiply the numerator and the denominator of the first fraction by 4 and those of the second fraction by 3.

(1)/(6) +(3)/(8) =(4)/(24) +(9)/(24)

=(13)/(24)

Hence,
(1)/(6) +(3)/(8) =(13)/(24).

3. L.C.M of the denominators is 24.

So, multiply the numerator and the denominator of the first fraction by 3 and those of the second fraction by 2.

(7)/(8)- (5)/(12) =(21)/(24) -(10)/(24)

=(11)/(24)

Hence,
(7)/(8) -(5)/(12) =(11)/(24).
