It should look like this:

Now you just need to solve it.

1) First you add 10 on both sides.

3x - 10 = 2x + 1

3x = 2x + 11

2) Then you subtract 2x on both sides.

3x = 2x + 11

- 2x =- 2x + 11

x = 11

3) Now you plug in 11 for x.

3x - 10 = 2x + 1

Like this:

33 - 10 = 22 + 1

So C to E and E to A = 23
