1+2g=-7 how do you do this?

I like my equations to have the variable before the constant.

2g+1=-7

Subtract 1 from the left side. Remember, whatever you do on one side, you MUST do it on the other.

2g=-8

Divide 2 from BOTH sides.

g=-4
