Dear Minister,
There is now a world-wide attempt to keep the environment clean and restore the damages done. In this regard I would like to bring your attention to Hamoli Canal.
In historical times, this stretch of water used to be a river. In the old pictures of the area, we see scenes of people bathing in the river and washing clothes. In fact, a settlement grew on the banks of the river and that is why we have people living on both sides of the river.
Your ministry is probably aware that the river today is in an appalling state. There are no more fishes in it, the stench is over-powering and it is nothing more than a dumping ground. All this was brought about by us humans and perhaps it is time to undo the harm.
Cleaning up the river will definitely require time and money, but in my opinion, the time and funds will be well-spent. Imagine a clean river with flourishing marine life in the middle of a populated area. It will greatly enhance the beauty of the place and it will be a good environment for people to take a walk and breath fresh air. It will also be a great achievement for the Republic and your ministry. I sincerely hope the ministry will take steps to convert this eyesore into a thing of beauty.
Yours Sincerely,
Suri (your name)
