(3y +10) /4 = 2y

Multiply both sides by 4:

4(3y +10) = 4(2y)

12y +40 = 8y

Subtract 40 from each side:

12y = 8y -40

Subtract 8y from each side:

4y = -40

Divide both sides by 4:

y = -40 / 4

y = -10

The answer is A. -10
