First we have to simplify the entire equation:

-4 ( x + 1) = 2 (1 - 2x) - 6 Now you have to distribute the numbers in front of the ( )

(-4x) - 4 = 2 - 4x - 6 now just simplify

(-4x) - 4 = (-4) - 4x just reverse the left side

(-4x) - 4 = (-4x) - 4 they are identical, which means:

The answer is C. All real numbers are solutions.

That's because no matter what number you substitute x for, the equation will remain identical on both sides. Hope that helped!
