Here is your equation:

6x+2=14

To leave the variable 6x by itself, you need to remove everything with it. With the variable is +2. To remove it, you have to do the opposite, which is -2. Subtract 2 from both sides.

6x+2=14 \\ 6x+2-2 = 14-2 \\ 6x=12

The variable is now 6x. You need to find x alone. To do that, divide both sides by 6.

6x / 6 = 12 / 6 \\ x = 2

That means your answer is B. x = 2 or C. because the choices are the same.
