The formula of a midpoint:

M_(AB)\left((x_A+x_B)/(2),\ (y_A+y_B)/(2)\right)

We have:

A(7,\ 12)\to x_A=7,\ y_A=12\\B(-1,\ 6)\to x_B=-1,\ y_B=6

Substitute:

(7+(-1))/(2)=(7-1)/(2)=(6)/(2)=3\\\\(12+6)/(2)=(18)/(2)=9

Answer: (3, 9).
