Let's find the x-intercept first: 2x + (0) = 8

2x = 8

Divide both sides by 2 to isolate and solve for the variable x, or the x-intercept.

x = 4 (x-intercept)

Now find the y-intercept: 2(0) + y = 8

Multiply 2 and 0.

y = 8 (y-intercept)

You have found the x-intercept to be 4 and the y-intercept to be 8. To graph the line, place a point on (4, 0) <== x-intercept and a point on (0, 8) <== y-intercept.
