Answer:

The combined amount of raisins and oatmeal cookies sold are 80.

Explanation:

At a bake sale there were 72 raisin cookies sold.

The ratio of raisin cookies to the oatmeal cookies sold was 9:1

Let the oatmeal cookies be = x

We get the following relation:

(72)/(x) =(9)/(1)

=>
9x=72

x = 8

So there were 8 oatmeal cookies sold.

And the combined total is =
72+8=80

Hence, the combined amount of raisins and oatmeal cookies sold are 80.
