We are given that the stroke is 24 inches. Therefore, the distance travelled will be given by
d=24 inches.

Now, the force given to us is
F=78540 lb.

Therefore, the work done will be:

W=F* d=78540 * 24=1884960 lb-in.

Now, Let "P" be the power and "t" be the time.

The time, t given to us is t=3 seconds.

We also know that
P=(W)/(t) =(1884960)/(3)=628320 lb-in/s...Equation 1

Now, to find the power delivered in horsepower (hp), we will have to convert the Equation 1 to it's equivalent is hp.

Now, we know that 1 lb-in/s=
(1)/(6600) hp

Therefore, 628320 lb-in/s=
(628320)/(6600)= 95.2 HP

Thus, the required answer in HP is 95.2 HP.
