Answer: (B) -2, (E) 1, (F) 2
Explanation:
x³ - x² - 4x + 4
= x²(x - 1) - 4(x - 1)
= (x² - 4) (x - 1)
= (x - 2)(x + 2)(x - 1)
Set each factor equal to zero to find the roots:
x - 2 = 0 x + 2 = 0 x - 1 = 0
x = 2 x = -2 x = 1
