Answer:

Do it shape by shape

Rectangle1: 5 ft x 2ft= 10 feet

Rectangle 2: 2ft x 4 ft= 8 feet

Rectangle 4: 3ft x 2ft= 6ft

Trapezium: 2ft + 6ft x 1/2 x 5 = 20 ft

Total area for needed carpet: 44 square feet
